Privacy Policy

1.    Privacy

The trust of our users is crucial to The Place Website (“TPW”) and TPW is serious to regard the privacy of Internet users.  If you have any concern about TPW and/or any of TPW online resources, including prayer requests, audio of sermons, members directory, photo albums, classified ads, and other services, (referred to hereafter as the “Service”), please contact us.  We read every message submitted and try to reply to everyone promptly.  This Privacy Policy describes how TPW treats the personal information that TPW collects and receives.  Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.  By your use of TPW, you expressly consent to our disclosure and use of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.  TPW collects personal information from our users at several different points on our website.  TPW won’t collect any personally-identifiable information about you, such as your name, address, phone number or email address from this web site without your knowledge, and will take measures to protect your privacy.  TPW reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Statement at any time and for any reason, and we will post any new versions on this page.  This includes when you conduct certain activities on the website.

2.    A Special Note About Children

Children (persons under the age of 18) are not eligible to use some of the Service, especially member directory service and classified ads service, unsupervised and we ask that children do not submit any personal information to us.  If you are under the age of 18, you may only make any information available to and at the Service only in conjunction with, under the supervision of, and with the authorization of a parent or legal guardian.

3.    IP Address and Domain Name

When a visitor requests pages from TPW, our Web servers automatically recognize the Internet Protocol (IP) address as well as the browser’s domain name, i.e., the name of the ISP computer through which you access the web.  We collect the domain names and IP addresses in order to aggregate information on the pages users access or visit.  This information is collected solely for statistical purposes and is not used to identify individuals.  TPW logs these IP addresses and domain names and uses them for system administration and to monitor the use of our site.  This information is used to measure the number of visits to TPW, the average time spent by visitors and to generate other site use statistics.  This monitoring helps us to evaluate how TPW is used and continuously improve the content we provide.  TPW does not link IP addresses or domain names with any personally identifiable information, which means that a visitor’s session will be logged on TPW servers, but the visitor will always remain anonymous.

4.    Contact Us

TPW also collects and maintains some information which cannot identify you when you complete the “Contact Us” online form.  The only personal information collected that can identify you is your name and e-mail address.  This information is collected and maintained by TPW.  We use the information you provide TPW through our “Contact Us” form to contact you in response to any message sent to TPW.  Under no circumstances will the information provided through TPW be shared with third parties.

5.    Information Sharing and Disclosure

TPW will not rent, sell or share your personal information with anyone except under the following circumstances: (a) we may disclose user information in response to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; (b) we may disclose user information when we believe such disclosure is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of TPW Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.  On account of the existing regulatory environment, we cannot ensure that all of your personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.  Therefore, although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information will always remain private.

6.    Personal Information Posted on TPW

You understand that all TPW postings, messages, text, files, images, photos, video, audio, or other materials (“Content”) posted on, transmitted through, or linked from the TPW and/or the Service, especially those related to the member directory service and the classified ads service, are the sole responsibility of the person from whom such Content originated.  More specifically, you are entirely responsible for each individual item (“Item”) of Content that you post, email or otherwise make available via the Service, especially those related to the member directory service and classified ad service at TPW.  These Contents and Items will be available at TPW to third parties and TPW has no control of the extension of such disclosure.  You agree that you must evaluate, and bear all risks associated with, the posting of any Item, as well as the posting of any personal information on any Item, and that TPW will not be liable for the disclosure of personal information contained in any Content and/or Item to third parties in breach of this Privacy Policy and/or the TPW Terms of Use.

7.    Links

TPW contains links to other sites.  Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information.  This privacy statement applies only to information collected by this website.

8.    Your Responsibilities

TPW goes to great lengths to protect all of your information.  Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online – for example through email – that information can be collected and used by others.  By disclosing personal information online, especially by making it available through the Service, you may receive unsolicited communication from other parties in return.  Therefore, you should exercise caution and common sense in such disclosures.
