Kindergarten – 5th Grade Sabbath School

Dear Parents:
Welcome to our online Sabbath school classroom! I am thrilled that God has provided a way for us (along with your help) to be able to minister to your child or children while we experience these unique times. I have provided a lesson plan for you to follow at home to facilitate the learning experience.


SATURDAY, MAY 30

Lesson objective: Jesus instructs His followers (Acts 1:1-11)

Jesus Ascending into Heaven Craft

What you will need:
—Blue Paper Cups (or color them blue)
—Blue Paper
—Card Stock (or heavy paper)
—Cotton Balls
—String
—Tape
—Colored Pencils
Directions:
1. Print out the Jesus pictures onto card stock and cut them apart. Cut star shapes from card stock. Punch holes in the middle bottom of the cups. Cut blue paper to fit around the cups and tape or glue it on.
2. Have your child glue cotton balls on the cups to look like clouds and color the picture of Jesus.
3. When they are done coloring, tape a star to one end of a string and push it through the hole at the bottom of the cup. Tape the picture of Jesus to the other end of the string as shown in the picture. When your child(ren) pull on the string Jesus will ascend to heaven!

Lesson objective: Saul escapes in a basket (Acts 9:19-31)

Paul in a Basket Craft

What you will need:
-Snack-sized Paper Plates
-Scissors
-Hole Punch
-Yarn
-Colored Pencils
-Card Stock (Heavy Paper)
Directions:
1. Before class print out the Paul patterns onto card stock and cut them out (or regular paper if you’d don’t have any card stock).
2. Cut paper plates in half. Place to halves top side to top side to form a basket, and glue them together. Punch holes around the edges.
3. In class have your children color the “baskets” and then thread yarn through the holes leaving about one foot of yarn on each side of the basket. Tie the ends together over the basket.
4. Have your children color the Paul figure and place it in the basket.

Lesson objective: Paul and Silas talk about Jesus (Acts 16:16-40)

Paul and Silas Rejoice Craft

What you will need:
—Black Construction Paper
—Paper
—Colored Pencils
—Scissors or Paper Cutter
—Glue
Directions:
1. Print out the Paul and Silas pattern and make copies.
2. Cut up thin strips of black construction paper.
3. Color the picture and then glue the strips of paper to the picture to make it look like a jail cell.

Lesson objective: Ananias helps Saul (Acts 9:10-19)

Make a Bible Verse Luminary Craft

What you will need:
-Yellow Printing Paper (White Paper Will Work but Yellow Looks Better)
-Colored Pencils
-Cheap Oil
-Paint Brushes
-Paper Towels
-Tape and Scissors
-Tealights Battery-Operated Flameless Candles
Directions:
1. Make a copy of pattern onto yellow paper (if you have one).
2. Have your child color the pattern if they would like and then paint on a thin layer of oil over the light areas of the pictures and words. Use a paper towel to blot off any excess oil.
*Note: since printers often use ink that runs when it get wet, please carefully dry off any and all excess oil.
3. To assemble, fold back the bottom of the pattern, the triangle shape, and the two tabs on the side of the triangle. Fold the sides on the luminary pattern taping the bottom of the luminary to the sides. Then tape the side of the luminary closed.
4. Have you children place a flameless teal light in the center of their luminaries.
