This Week at The Place — Worship at 11:30 This Sabbath
All are invited to attend our annual BEACH camping THIS weekend, September 10-11th @ Sycamore Cove/Canyon. The cost is $10 per person or $30 per family to camp.

But, EVERYONE is invited to join us (even if you are not camping!!) There is NO Sabbath School or church this Sabbath, Sept. 11th at The Place. It is completely CLOSED! And there is NO LIVESTREAM either.
|
|
Only live...in person...at Sycamore Canyon Campground.

Friday, Sept. 10th Beach Vespers @ Sycamore Cove @ 5:30 p.m.

Please join us this Friday evening at Sycamore Cove for vespers @ 5:30 p.m. Hot dogs will be provided, please bring a dish to share. Come and worship together.

Sabbath, Sept. 11th Sabbath School (@10:30 a.m.) & Worship @ 11:30 a.m.
|
|
Cameron will lead worship and Simon will share from the Word.
|
We will meet at Campsite 50. Parking is $12 if you park in the campground. Come EARLY as they fill up.
|
|

Fellowship Luncheon, baptisms, & dinner
|
We will enjoy fellowship luncheon following church services at the campground. For lunch we will have Haystacks, please bring something to add (cheese, lettuce, sour cream, etc.)
|
At 3 p.m. we will make our way to Sycamore Beach for the baptisms of Karolina Protsenko & Adam Lange and will share in an afternoon of fellowship and fun.
|
|
Finally, we will conclude our evening together back at the campground for an evening of pizza making.
|

~Submit payments for Women's Retreat @ Hume Lake THIS Sabbath
Deposits/final payments are now due for the Hume Women's Retreat happening next weekend. Please contact Cecilia this Sabbath.

The Women’s Retreat provides a weekend with new and old friends sharing times of fellowship, reflection, and laughter. Hume provides solid Biblical teaching, fabulous food, a variety of recreational activities, craft sessions, and inspiring worship. This year the Women’s Retreat is scheduled for September 17-19th and the cost is $285 for standard rooms and $385 for deluxe, hotel styled lodging. We still have some spots available. Its that time again...time to sign up for a small group! As we head into Fall we encourage everyone to be part of a small group and grow with one another in community. We have numerous groups in our area and beyond as well as some groups that meet online. Please take a look at our list or contact Pastor Simon to start a new one.

~Attend the next "Guys Night" on Thurday, Sept 23rd
All guys are invited to the next "Guys Night" on Thursday evening, September 23rd @ Sunil's home (1451 Menta Lane in Camarillo) beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be games and dinner. Please bring $5 for dinner.

~Attend the Baby Shower for Sarah & Mike on September 25th
All of our church members are encouraged to celebrate Sarah and Mike at their baby shower taking place on Saturday afternoon September 25th, following church services @ The Place.

~Join the Women's Small Group
The Women's Small Group meets on a monthly (and sometimes bi-monthly basis) for fellowship, dinners, and social outings. Our women's small group is open to any woman looking for a community of believers who are looking to grow spiritually in Jesus.

We will begin reading "Own Your Life" by Sally Clarkson this month. Please mark your calendars for the upcoming opportunities for fellowship, we'd love to have you!

Thursday, Sept. 30: Dinner @ Freda's Woodfired Kitchen (2024 Ventura Blvd in Camarillo) @ 6:30 p.m. We'll dine together and discuss Chapter 1 of "Own Your Life".

Thursday, Oct 14: "Craft Night" with Tara Lazo. On this night we will savor the fact that the holidays are around the corner by crafting for Fall and Christmas. Prices will range from $ depending on what you decide to make. Options will be a wooden stacked pumpkin/snowman sign, candle holders, and fall leaves (all wooden).

~First Annual Scramble Charity Golf Tournament October 3rd
|
Play golf for a cause and sign up to participate in the first annual "Scramble Charity" Golf Tournament @ Los Robles Green on Sunday, October 3rd beginning at 12 noon.

~Sign up for the 2nd Annual Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of Desmond T. Doss on October 11th
The DDMGT/Charity Event is held yearly at a 5-Star Destination Location inviting Sponsors to participate individually or to host Veterans & 1st Responders of the local community to come together to celebrate the heroism and values of Medal of Honor recipient Desmond T. Doss. Our goal is to make this event one of the most respected and prestigious Military ~ 1st Responder tournaments in America. Every participant will leave with a deeper understanding of Desmond’s values of patriotism, morals and unconditional love for all.

~Participate in the Literacy Ministry @ The Place
We are again starting our Laubach Literacy Tutoring. This awesome ministry provides one on one English tutoring for local community members. There is a very simple training program and anyone can do it if you can read! You then commit one HOUR a week to meet with your student. To VOLUNTEER, please contact Jeroen Amador - 707-293-5333.
