{20110226s.mp3}This Sabbath Pastor Steve will share his farewell sermon with us!
The demands seems so great, the time too short. So many of us feel pressed for time – earning a living, caring for dependents, cleaning house, while trying to exercise, nurture relationships, sleep and eat in between. Saturday is our Sabbath – our special day to take a break from the daily grind, spending quality time in worship, and nurturing relationships with family and friends.
Each Saturday morning, we gather from 9:45 a.m. in the main sanctuary for a time of prayer. We pray for one another, for the needs in our church family, for our church, or community, our nation and world. This is an informal time and everyone is invited. Come and join us as we petition our Heavenly Father and listen for His leading through the powerful communication of prayer.
Children’s Bible Classes All our children’s classes (our Sabbath School) meet in our facilities just to the side of the main sanctuary (to the right, if you’re facing the church from the parking lot).
Class Age Beginner 0 to 3 Kindergarten 4 to 6 Primary 7 to 9 Junior 10 to 14 Youth 15 to 18
Our adult Bible study and fellowship groups are open to everyone in the community. Currently, we have several different classes running each Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Our worship services combine contemporary praise and worship music with messages from Pastor Simon Liversidge that strengthen your walk with God. Once a month (usually the second Sabbath of each month), we have children’s church in our youth chapel.

We’re a contemporary Seventh-day Adventist church serving the Southern California communities of Ventura, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Moorpark, and Simi Valley. We’re passionate about our love for Jesus. This is reflected in the passionate worship we share and seeking for God in our private lives.
Worship services are Saturdays at 11:30 am with Pastor Simon Liversidge. All ages worship together at The Place, in a contemporary and casual atmosphere. Pastor Simon’s conversational style engages young and old as he carefully teaches from the Word of God.
During the 10:30 hour, we meet for community Bible Study (our Sabbath School). Classes are available for toddlers, kids, junior and senior high youth, collegiates, and adults. We’ve created safe, fun, and Biblical environments for your kids and teens. Come visit our Sabbath School rooms and meet dedicated staff and volunteers.
At The Place, we welcome people from all walks of life and all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. If you are seeking to know Jesus for the first time or have been walking with him for a long time already, we invite you to make The Place your home and join us on that journey.
Most of us have never had the experience of being discipled – to have a person or group committed to walk beside us to show us what it means to live as a child of God. Are you ready? During 2013, we are embarking on an amazing, life-changing discipleship journey together.
This journey takes several forms. First, as a church family gathered in weekly worship, we are focusing on getting to know God in a deeper way and learning what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. Secondly, we are inviting everyone at The Place to make discipleship a priority by: studying weekly as a family, by joining with another friend or family, or by joining a small group. We’ll be using a Biblically-rich and insightful resource called “A Discipleship Journey” for our family and small group study.
For families, discussion questions will also be provided to help incorporate “Faith Talks” and “God Moments” in their daily routine. Children’s, youth ministry leaders, and pastoral staff partner with families and individuals to help navigate the spiritual milestones from infant to adulthood.
As we learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus, The Place will continue to have fun events designed for building new friendships and opportunities to serve our local community, international mission trips, marriage enrichment, and mentoring. Adventure Groups will be wonderful vehicles for building relationships with others enjoying sports, hobbies, support and more.
This is your written invitation: Please join us on a discipleship journey in 2013.
