The Place has raised over $25,000 over the past 2 years through participation in Team World Vision and the Los Angeles Marathon. This amounts to 500 LIFETIMES of clean water for children in Africa!
Starting in 2016, we have made a goal of sponsoring 56 children in the village of Tipitapa, Nicaragua. Sponsorship is much easier than running 26 miles in the Los Angeles marathon! It costs $39 per month and provides clean water, food, healthcare, training and education for a specific child in a community with the goal of helping that community become self-sufficient. Nicaragua’s average annual income is $1,650. World Vision is a Christian organization and children are sponsored regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or gender.
By choosing to sponsor children in the same village, we gain the ability to visit and meet the children we are sponsoring. After exchanging letters for months, we will be able to see first hand the work that God is doing among the people of Tipitapa. We are planning an international missions trip in Fall 2016 to visit and provide needed services to their community.
